Pupils from the Reigate School of Ballet and Commercial Dance along with RSB Dance come together in a dance extravaganza, to eventually perform at the Royal Albert Hall in London.Seventy-seven pupils are taking part from the ages of 11 upwards, and have now been rehearsing for five weeks. After performing a Classical Jazz Suite Ballet at the Royal Albert Hall two years ago (can be seen in our gallery), this current piece is called "Because We Can-Can", and is a fusion of ballet, lyrical jazz, contemporary and modern. This has enabled many of our senior pupils from these classes, as well as our Starlight Musical Theatre and Streetdance pupils to take part this year.
Three pieces of music have been carefully edited to embrace all the styles and variations of dance - we even have some fantastic acro! The pupils will look striking in their red and black shiny costumes, giving us that extra sparkle.
SPARKLE BEAR (our school mascot) will need to get a new outfit for this Special Day!
We are really looking forward to May 7th, where we will be reharsing all day at the Royal Albert Hall, soaking up the atmosphere and prestigious nature of this world renowned venue, while enjoying meeting other like-minded schools from around the country.
Jo Evans and her team would like to thank all the pupils for their hard work and dedication for these extra rehearsals, and also to all their parents for their continued support of their children and the Reigate School of Ballet and Commercial Dance.
