Dance School in Reigate performs with Pasha

Children from Reigate's most established dancing school, will begin rehearsals for Pasha Kovalev's dance show Uk tour in the new year. The Reigate School of Ballet & Commercial Dance have been chosen for the 2nd year to perform with BBC's Strictly Come Dancing star Pasha Kovalev, and they are extremely thrilled. Miss Evans, the school's principal explains that the school was chosen for it's professionalism and diversity, as well as performing experience their pupils gain throughout the year.

This is the second year RSB dance school has been chosen to perform alonside Pasha, and provides a unique opportunity for our pupils to experience dancing in a professional touring dance show. Over 70 pupils will be embarking on rehearsals for this show after Christmas (split into two teams of 35), and the actual performance dates are 17th & 18th March 2017.

This magnificent opportunity provides our pupils with an insight into the professional world of performing through dance. All the children who are performing take at least 2 classes of dance tuition at the Reigate School of Ballet and RSB Dance per week (some do 3 or more disciplines). By studying more than 1 style of dance, the children learn to be more diverse. The choreography will be a mix of many styles and each dance will be developed for both dance teams.

The kids are thrilled and will have the opportunity to meet Pasha a few times on stage during rehearsals.

Pasha Kovalev, originally from Siberia, specialises in Ballroom anbd Latin dance. Having studied ballet when he was younger he moved to the UK in 2011 as one of the professional dancers on the BBC's Stictly Come Dancing. In 2014, he and his dance partner Caroline Flack were crowned the series 12 champions with a record 120 points throughout.

RSB very much look forward to their second encounter with Pasha - we will keep you posted!

Tickets available from the Harlequin Theatre box office.
