One of the numerous events taking place in the Reigate School of Ballet & Commercial Dance calendar this year, was the opening of the Christmas Lights at the Belfry Shopping Centre in Redhill. Our school performed 5 pieces taken from their Starlight Musical Theatre course on Saturday, and the Junior and Senior Scholarship classes during the week, and their performances were seen by hundreds of people watching.
The grand opening of the Belfry's Christmas Lights starred Strictly Come Dancing's James and Ola Jordan, who danced in front of the awaiting crowds, while our own Reigate Dance pupils performed a set before and immediately after the two Strictly stars. We were lucky enough to dance at this time as the crowds remained, and the children gave them a show they couldn't forget.
Having danced at the Belfry's 25th Anniversary, the Reigate School of Ballet & Commercial Dance were asked back to perform this year, with pieces from the Senior Street Dance crew, Junior and Senior Scholarship classes and Starlight Performing Arts classes. The stage, management and lights were magnificent, and the children stepped up to the hype and really went for it.
Many thanks for the professional images (above) sent to us by the PR company who organised the whole event and for the Belfry Shopping Centre for kindly asking us back to perform. The children were brilliant and thoroughly enjoyed themselves.
We now look forward to Reigate's Christmas Lights.
