Despite being our "Non-Show-Year", children at the Reigate School of Ballet & Commercial Dance have much to look forward to. Our events and performance calendar this term tops the bill, with some unique projects. Events are added during the year, especially local ones - Reigate's Priory Park and Move Revolution to name but a few. However, our dance school likes to add some spice to the already packed year - check out a few of our highlights:
a) I.S.T.D Ballet & Tap Exams
In-between our main show year, we have all our major exams taking place, and the children who have wished to take exams will be preparing for these in time for Easter.
Ballet exams will be on the following days:
Wednesday 28th March - Reigate Community Centre
Thursday 29th March - Colman Redland Centre
Tap exam dates and venues TBC
b) DANCING WITH PASHA - UK TOUR 2018
Back for the 3rd year, the Reigate School of Ballet & Commercial Dance are dancing with the BBC's Strictly Star on the Harlequin Theatre stage in Redhill on THURSDAY 15th MARCH. Details will be given out in class.
We always look forward to this highbrow local event
c) REIGATE'S EASTER PERFORMING ARTS SCHOOL
In case our pupils need more dancing, singing and acting, our Easter TWO DAY School will take place on Tuesday and Wednesday (10th & 11th April) from 10am - 4.00pm. These events fill up quickly so please book early to avoid disappointment. Please contact us for more details.
d) RSB at the RAH
We have had numerous fantastic performances at the lovely Royal Albert Hall, and this year will be no exception. A group of 50 children will be performing this year on Sunday 27th May. Dancing in the round is such a different experience for the children, and a great experience for them, in front of a packed audience in one of London's most famous performance venues.
A really special event, and one that will be cherished by our pupils.
e) CLASS ACT - Raising funds for promoting the Arts in local schools
Back by popular demand, our CLASS ACT show is a great way for our classes that don't prepare for exams, to perform on the Harlequin stage in Redhill, and an opportunity for local primary schools to show off their choirs, dancing and musical theatre numbers. All proceeds from these shows are donated to all the schools who participate, and helps to fund future arts projects.
f) FULL-SCALE PRODUCTION
We are proud to announce that we will be staging our first ever full-scale musical this year, to provide further opportunities for our dancers, singers and actors. This is an extremely exciting time for the school and it's something we've wanted to do for a long time. Details about the show, age ranges, parts and auditions will be posted on our facebook pages shortly - Reigate School of Ballet and Reigate Dance Centre.
g) and FINALLY.....
We always add events to the calendar as the year progresses, so please check our EVENTS PAGE for updates.
Thank you to you for all your support this year, and we hope to continue giving the children these opportunities
Kind regards
Jo
