Reigate Dance half term workshops & cinema

RSB's autumn half term was filled with children's workshops and events this year, with dance, drama and a private screening at Reigate's Everyman cinema - a first for our school.

BIG THE MUSICAL Workshop

We had Matt (one of the BIG cast members in the West End), lead the workshop, teaching the choreography from the actual show itself to the children. "Challenging but fun" was among the many positive comments we had from the children, and we saw many rehearse the moves during their snack break!

And as we had two groups, each group had a dance workshop with Matt plus a drama workshop with our own Miss Louise (who has also had a long and successful West End career). Learning mime, communication through activities and making the children think about how to present proved to be immensely popular and enjoyable.

SECRET LIFE OF PETS 2

On another day, we had a private screening at the Reigate Everyman Cinema, and we had 80 children watch the 'Secret Life of Pets 2'. Our private screening included copious amounts of popcorn, and the children loved watching the film with their friends. This was a new venture as we usually have a onesie movie night in a hall, so this was a welcome difference, and we were full. Many thanks to the Everyman Cinema staff who were most hospitable.

The Reigate School of Ballet & Commercial Dance provide many events of which are both dance related and family orientated, and prove very popular.

Our next workshops will be taking place in the Spring term 2020.
